It’s the year 2131 and after attempting to extend the human lifespan with the help of cancer cells, immortality is achieved for the body, but not the mind, which shuts down once infected, leading to victims turning into mindless instinct-driven immortal monsters.
To survive the hostile climate conditions and the ongoing zombie apocalypse, survivors band together to build settlements, scavenge for resources, and protect the living.
Z Versus Project offers players the chance to play both as a human and a zombie, creating a diverse range of possible gameplays. Each faction, human and zombie, has different capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, objectives, and progressions, but the ultimate goal is to eliminate the other.
The game is played both in free roam and mission/challenge modes; free roaming lets you explore the surroundings, search for supplies, and find rare NFT loot, and mission-focused gameplay provides opportunities to complete Daily Missions where you are tasked to attack enemies as part of the ongoing Global War.
Housing plays an important role in the game. Players can upgrade and enlarge their given housing block through farming and marketplace purchases, and combine them with other players to build communities. These housing blocks as well as other special blocks of land can be bought, sold, and rented as NFTs on the NFT marketplace to other participants. The NFT marketplace can also be used to purchase supplies and sell crafted items, vehicles, weapons, and even animals.
